The Mad Movie-A-Thon-O-Rama
Thursday, May 4, 2023 6 p.m. – 7:45 p.m.
In a galaxy far, far away, on May 25, 1977, a movie hit theaters that changed cinema forever. Star Wars was an instant pop culture phenomena. One minute, no one knew the difference between a land-speeder and a light saber, and in the next we never knew how we lived without them. Over the years, writer/director George Lucas has gone back to his film and updated it a couple times as technology has finally caught up with his imagination, but we're celebrating this May 4th with an old school 90's VHS, released before he started filling his movie with CGI creatures and explosions. It's like you've probably never seen it, with less creatures and explosions! This is closer to how we saw it for the first time back in summer of '77! In Spectacular Color! 120 minutes. The Auditorium will open at 6:00 pm and the movie will begin at 6:30 pm. The movie will end after the library closes for the day. Food and drink are allowed in the Auditorium during the movie.
Gimmick- VHS copy of Star Wars, in all it's Analog Glory!
