Phantom of the Paradise (1974)
Winslow Leach (William Finley) is a composer hungry for fame. When he makes a Faustian bargain with slimy record producer Swan (Paul Williams), he's hidden away to write the ultimate rock opera, unaware he will never get to perform it. After his music is stolen and he's framed for crimes he didn't commit, Winslow is disfigured and hides in the cavernous Paradise Theater. Swan renegotiates their deal after Winslow hears his songs performed by Phoenix (Jessica Harper), and instantly falls in love. Donning a helmet and electronic voice modulator, Winslow haunts the Paradise until he has his revenge. A rock 'n roll retelling of The Phantom of the Opera by suspense master Brian De Palma, Phantom of the Paradise is an electrifying tour through the darkest depths of the music business. Contains adult situations, adult language, adult humor, 70s rock music, hair and fashions, and scenes of Phantom violence. The Auditorium opens at 6:00 p.m. The movie begins at 6:30 p.m. Food and drink are allowed in the Auditorium during the film. 91 mins.
