A Woman in the World: An International Film Series

In hopes of using the prize money to buy a new bicycle, an independent-minded Saudi ten-year-old enters her school’s Koran-memorization competition. Wadjda was the first feature length film ever made shot entirely in Saudi Arabia, and was written and directed by Haifaa al-Mansour, who became the first Saudi woman to direct a feature film.
