Bring the whole family to celebrate Earth Day at the Madison Public Library. Check out one of our educational programs and connect with local community groups who are making a difference to bring about a sustainable future.
Don't miss award winning children's author Heather Montgomery who writes books for kids who love nature. She brings the weird, wacky and wow of science to her programs!
Here's what is happening at the event:
10:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. "Dirt Detectives" activity with Children's Author Heather Montgomery in Auditorium #1. Heather is the author of Sick!, The Twists and Turns behind Animal Germs, Who Gives a Poop, Something Rotten and other books. 10:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. "Recycling Right Demonstration for a Sustainable Future" with Stand Strong Alabama
11:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. "Introducing the Alabama Master Naturalist Program" with Dr. Steve Jones, Chris Stuhlinger, Beth Girard, and Amber Coger in Auditorium #2. If you are interested in nature, love the outdoors, and have a desire to help with natural resource management and conservationism; the Alabama Master Naturalist Program may be just for you. In this workshop, Master Naturalists with different backgrounds will share information about this program for adults which develops a group of community volunteers that provides education, outreach, and services.
