A steelworker [Richard Gere] in 1910s Chicago must go on the run after accidentally killing his foreman, so he flees to Texas with his girlfriend [Brooke Adams] and his sister [Linda Manz], seeking work as a farm laborer. However, at his new job, his girlfriend catches the eye of the wealthy, sickly farmer [Sam Shepard] who employs them both….
Days of Heaven won Best Cinematography at the 51st Academy Awards and its director, Terrence Malick, won Best Director at the Cannes Film Festival for the film.
