Billy Wilder was one of the great directors of classic Hollywood. Over a 30 year career his movies won numerous awards and critical acclaim. This year we're taking an in-depth look at his storied career. Part One will look at the early films of Wilder as he establishes himself as an acclaimed moviemaker.
In Double Indemnity (1944) an insurance representative is seduced by a dissatisfied housewife into a scheme of insurance fraud and murder that arouses the suspicion of his colleague, a claims investigator.
