A man living a quiet life working as a janitor cleaning public restrooms in Tokyo has his equilibrium shaken by the sudden arrival of his niece.
Perfect Days was directed and co-written by the acclaimed German director Wim Wenders and nominated for Best International Film at the Academy Awards. His performance in the lead role won Koji Yakusho the award for Best Actor at both the Cannes Film Festival and the Japan Academy Awards.
Words That We Couldn’t Say – An International Film Series
This globe-spanning film series centers on situations where communication breaks down and people try their best to find what hasn’t been – or can’t be – expressed: from a lone man quietly living his day to day life, to a convoluted family drama, to a tense exploration of criminal accusations at a school, to the true story of a woman living in a military dictatorship trying desperately to keep her family together.
