Three young boys build a spaceship and actually leave Earth for a close encounter with alien beings they were not prepared to meet! This tale from director Joe Dante is filled with references and in-jokes to a ton of 50's B-grade science-fiction and horror classics. It stars a very young Ethan Hawke and River Phoenix. It is rated PG.
