Last Tuesdays at Downtown

Join us on the third floor for concerts on the last Tuesday of each month! This month Rocket City Jazz Orchestra returns!  Classics from Glenn Miller, Count Basie and Duke Ellington reside in the band's library along with big band arrangements of tunes from modern composers such as Gordon Goodwin and Dave Wolpe. This eclectic repertoire ensures performances that appeal to audiences of all ages.  The band, originally known as The Band in Demand, or simply TBD, was formed in 2002 as part of a musical production with a 1940s theme. At the end of the show's run the members decided to keep the band together as an opportunity to play the great classics. The community's enthusiastic response has enabled the band to develop a performance schedule that has attracted the area's best jazz musicians looking for an opportunity to play big band music on a regular basis.
