FABclub meets once a month to discuss books by female authors. We read a variety of genres. Everyone is welcome to join!
This month we are discussing The Buddha in the Attic by Julie Otsuka. Published in 2011 the book tells the story of Japanese picture brides immigrating to the United States in the early 1900s.
The Buddha in the Attic was nominated for a National Book Award for Fiction (2011) and won the Langum Prize for American Historical Fiction (2011), the PEN/Faulkner Award for Fiction (2012), and the Prix Femina Étranger (2012).
FABclub meets on the fourth Friday of the month at 11:30am in Meeting Room A at the Downtown Huntsville Public Library.
