Alabama native son, winner of the Pulitzer Prize for Commentary, University of Alabama alumnus, and a whole lot more, John Archibald will read from his book, Shaking the Gates of Hell, released earlier this year. The subtitle to this volume is A Search for Family and Truth in the Wake of the Civil Rights Revolution. One reviewer writes,“From the Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist—son of a long line of Methodist preachers—a moving and powerful book about growing up in the American South of the early 1960s.” Archibald will also share some of his learning experiences at Harvard during the year of COVID.
