Library Board Meeting

Any citizen or group of citizens may appear before the Board at any regular meetings of the Board except when the Board declares itself to be in executive session as permitted by Alabama Law. Citizens may address the Board, provided a request for such address had been made to the Executive Director not less than 48 hours prior to the meeting.  If no such request has been made, citizens may observe only. The Board may give citizens who have not made proper request for hearing an opportunity to speak by majority vote of its members present. The Chair shall allot ten (10)minutes for presentation by a group and three(3) minutes for a presentation by an individual. The Board may also limit such speeches by majority vote. Upon request citizens may receive copies of the Agenda.  Copies of documents prepared for the  Board may be mailed to interested citizens upon request following the regular Board meeting.  Documents prepared for the Board which are attachments to the minutes are available for public examination.

In the event that appearances before the Board are a complaint or grievance, the matter  must be submitted to the Executive Director and Board for study and review prior to consideration by the Board. The complaint shall be put in writing ,addressed to the Chair of the Board, signed and filed in the office of the Executive Director.
