No-dig garden beds are quick to build, low maintenance and a productive option for home gardeners. In this workshop you will learn the benefits of no dig garden beds for our soil ecology and why they are a smart option for gardeners and renters. Key topics we'll cover include:

  • Why no-dig?
  • No-dig design:  it's all about the layers.
  • Materials to use.
  • No-dig garden bed options:  sheet mulching, Kugel Culture, 'lasagna' garden beds, raised beds, hay bale gardens.
  • Maintenance.

Presented by Lilly Oaks, Madison County Regional Extension Agent.
