Exposure to classic literature allows readers to gain an understanding of the world and helps readers navigate the complexities of modern life. Classic Pages Book Club features classic novels and novellas published around the world since the 1800s.
The Classic Pages Book Club selection for August is The Metamorphosis by Franz Kafka. Have you ever wondered what it would be like to wake up one morning transformed into a giant insect? If the answer is yes, The Metamorphosis is the novella for you. Published in 1915, The Metamorphosis has received religious, psychological, and allegorical interpretations and has been widely discussed by literary critics for over 100 years. Overall the novella is a heartrending but comic look at feelings of inadequacy and isolation.
