Labor Daze: A Film Series

When a Korean immigrant moves his family to Arkansas with a plan to grow traditional crops to sell to Korean grocers in Texas, tensions arise between him and his wife as we see the world through his youngest child’s eyes.
Based on writer/director Isaac Lee Chung’s own childhood experiences, Minari was nominated for Best Picture, Best Director, Best Actor [Stephen Yeun], Best Original Screenplay, and Best Original Score, and for her role as the family’s grandmother, Youn Yuh-jung won Best Supporting Actress at the 93rd Academy Awards.
