The Princess Bride (1986)
A grandfather reads a story to his bedridden grandson, a tale of true love, kidnapping, piracy, revenge, sword fighting, rodents of unusual size, death (mostly), and…did we say true love already?
Starring Cary Elwes, Robin Wright, Mandy Patinkin, and Andre the Giant, written by William Goldman (based on his own novel), and directed by Rob Reiner, The Princess Bride has stood the test of time to be regarded as one of the most beloved classics of the 1980s.
Stories We Tell – A Film Series
This film series focuses on storytellers and how the stories they tell reflect, distort, or influence the world around both the teller and the listener, from bedside book readings to tall tales, improvised epics to implausible autobiographies.
