The Fall (2006)
At a Hollywood hospital in the silent film era, a young girl with a broken arm meets a movie stuntman recovering from a stunt fall gone horribly wrong. Unable to leave his bed, he attempts to gain her trust through means of an elaborate, improvised tale of adventure, revenge, and the fantastic. The story unfolds as filtered through her imagination, and as she pushes back on his choices for the direction of the tale – and as pivotal events happen in their real lives – the two of them shape the story ever further.
Stories We Tell – A Film Series
This film series focuses on storytellers and how the stories they tell reflect, distort, or influence the world around both the teller and the listener, from bedside book readings to tall tales, improvised epics to implausible autobiographies.
